The Gospel

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out”—Acts 3:19a

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”—Romans 3:32

“…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”—Romans 10:9

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16

Death is the consequence of sin, and we have all sinned against God. The Bible states, “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a). That’s not the end of the story, though. God’s Son Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins—and rose from the dead, defeating death. “But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23b).

“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)

By His resurrection, Jesus Christ has conquered the grave! God has given each one of us the opportunity to overcome death, too. Yes, our bodies will eventually reach an end, but our souls will find a new home. Everyone who trusts in Jesus as Lord and Savior can have assurance that one day they will depart from their earthly bodies and dwell with the Lord forever (2 Corinthians 5:1).

One Way to Heaven

Are you ready to accept God’s gift of salvation by repenting of your sins
and trusting in Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior?

A suggested prayer:
Father, I come to You, confessing my sin and asking for Your forgiveness. I thank You, Lord, for You have promised that if I will confess my sins, You will be faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I want to turn from my sins and live in Your will. I ask that You give me the power through Your Holy Spirit to live the right way.

I thank You that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying the price for my sins, and then rose from the dead. I accept Him now as my Savior, my Lord, and my Friend. Thank You for giving me new life in Christ. I surrender myself to You; make me what You want me to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

To grow spiritually:

Pray to God—Prayer is a way to communicate directly with God. It’s important to spend time talking to Him every day; the more, the better. “…Let your requests be made known to God” (Phillipians 4:6b; see also Psalm 5:3).

Read the Bible—The Bible is like a love letter from God. The more you read it, the more you’ll fall in love with Him. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17; see also 1 Peter 2:2 and John 8:31-32).

Fellowship with believers—You need to have friends who share your beliefs and who can encourage you. This is why it’s so important to find a Bible-believing church where you can meet other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Tell others—Share your faith in Jesus Christ. Pray that God will reveal when and how to share with others. “Then He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men'” (Matthew 4:19; see also Matthew 28:18-20).
